For the provision of internet and intranet services, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has asked for expression of interest (EoI).

Across all over Pakistan, PTA has decided to change the service providers in all its offices. PTA has also published an ad in this regard on their website and newspapers in which PTA is asking for EoI from the interested companies.

PTA ad for quality broadband services says, “Those companies which can give appropriate internet services and have huge pre requisite experience in this field, are subjected to submit their technical as well as financial proposals before 1st September, 2014 up to 10:30 AM”.

Request for Proposal (RFP) can be downloaded from official website of PTA i.e. www.pta.gov.pk. A non-refundable processing fee amounting Rs. 1,000 in the form of bank draft will have to be submitted for this purpose.

Presently, two ISPs are offering broadband services to PTA. These 2 ISPs are not able to satisfy PTA. In this regard, an official of PTA commented that the quality of service is not appropriate and up to the mark.

In the Islamabad headquarter and zonal offices of PTA including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, PTA wants to obtain internet services.
