Pakistani MNAs Declare 3G Speeds Just Average

It is reported that members of National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunications, Pakistan are not satisfied with the speeds of next generation 3G and 4G technology that is being offered these by telecom operators of Pakistan.

Recently, media reported that a committee meeting was chaired by MNA Captain Safdar in which the lawmakers criticized that the 3G speeds in Pakistan are not very much impressive. According to media, Members of National Assembly said:

“We feel very ‘little difference’ after switching from older data packages to the new 3G and 4G services”.

It must be noted here that Pakistani MNAs just complained about the speeds of 3G and 4G service. So it seems like they are partially or completely satisfied with the roll-out speeds and coverage of 3G and 4G technology in Pakistan.

Most of the MNAs were also seem having a judgment that telecom operators of Pakistan are not fulfilling their promise of providing the pre-decided speeds of their respective 3G and 4G network and cheating and deceiving their customers this way.

In response to all these quoted complaints of MNAs, PTA calmly answered that a minimum speed of 256Kbps for 3G operators and 2Mbps for 4G operators had been set by PTA. Furthermore, it is said by PTA officials that local telecom operators of Pakistan are busy in the progressing phase of their networks’ roll-out, due to which, it will take longer time than the estimated one, after which the subscribers would be able to use fastest speeds 3G and 4G internet in their smartphones and other compatible devices.
