Warid Completes Third Phase of Biometric SIM Verification Installation Across Pakistan
According to the new policy of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) that no SIM can be activated or sold without biometric verification, each telecom company in Pakistan devising and launching their new system consequently. After this mandatory instruction, all telecom operators of Pakistan started the race of installing BVS in far and distant, small big regions of the country.
Therefore, Warid expands the largest biometric verification system across Pakistan by completing its third phase of BVS installation.
Warid’s BVS installation occurred in 3 phases. In the 1st phase of Warid BVS installation process, Warid Telecom installed 518 scanning in its 12 business centers and 358 franchises. It happened in December 2013. In the 2nd phase of Warid BVS installation process, Warid Telecom installed 2000 biometric devices on retail shops in all areas of Karachi and Baluchistan. In the 3rd phase of Warid BVS installation process, Warid Telecom installed 10,000 devices to all retail shops across Pakistan. The 3rd phase was initiated since 31st July 2014. Warid BVS installation has extended fully and ensuring PTA compliance at each step.
