Telenor Youth Summit 2014 has been announced by Telenor Group, in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center which s going to be held in December 2014.

Telenor said that it invites youth to discover how mobile as well as digital communication can fetch social change and generate opportunities for all.

In Oslo, Telenor Group will host its Youth Summit from 9th to 11th December 2014. The successful inaugural gathering of last year is followed in this event that coincides with the Nobel Peace Prize celebrations taking place the same week in Norway.

From across Telenor’s geographical footprint in Asia and Europe, the 2nd youth summit by Telenor will gather the youth between the ages of 18 to 25. The demonstration of improvement of lives and empowerment of societies by digital communication, inclusive growth drive as well as promotion of cross-border dialogue will be challenged to this young generation of digital natives.

The President and Chief Executive Officer at Telenor Group, Jon Fredrik Baksaas said, “What happens when you bring 28 ambitious young people from across Asia and Europe together with a group of peers, global experts and industry executives at Telenor Group’s headquarters and the Nobel Peace Centre? You create a hot bed of ideas for how mobile and digital communications can fuel social and economic change, and empower individuals and communities. We place confidence in today’s digital frontrunners and tomorrows’ leaders to bring new ideas and ways of using digital and mobile communications for societal change at the Telenor Youth Summit 2014.”

For tomorrow’s social entrepreneurs, this summit is an occasion to connect with experts, thought leaders and fellow youth. Is the right place to share ideas and talk with peers how connectivity can advance lives, fuel growth and foster dialogue. This gathering will hopefully be energetic arena for all participants to voice their ideas so these can be heard and be inspired.

Telenor Group has launched the summit’s website (telenor.com/youthsummit) today along with an open Facebook group. All necessary and detailed information is provided to potential applicants and other interested parties on these 2 digital platforms regarding the upcoming event as well as last year’s summit and candidates.
